Quick Start

Connect to Internet

Your DSL router is ready to connect to ADSL, but there is no PPP session defined.

Configure it from the Quick Setup menu or the Advanced Setup...|Internet Connection menu.

 

Quick Setup

This Quick Setup will guide you through the steps necessary to configure your DSL Router.

NOTE: All of original settings will be replaced by new settings after you finish these steps.

Configure Internet Connection -- ATM PVC

Please enter VPI and VCI numbers for the Internet connection which is provided by your ISP.

 

VPI: (0-255)
VCI: (32-65535)

 

 

Configure Internet Connection - Connection Type

Select the protocol and encapsulation type over the ATM PVC that your ISP has instructed you to use.
Protocol: аPPP over ATM (PPPoA)
  аPPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)
  аMAC Encapsulation Routing (MER)
  аIP over ATM (IPoA)

Configure Internet Connection - WAN IP Settings

Enter information provided to you by your ISP to configure the WAN IP settings.

аUse the following IP address:

Configure the second IP Address and Subnet Mask for LAN interface.


 

DHCP Server
Enabling DHCP Server on LAN interface can provide the proper IP Address settings to your computers.

Click "Finish" to accept these settings, and reboot the system.
Click "Back" to make any modifications.

Dynamic Routing

You can enable RIP function on serveral interfaces of your DSL router. Select the desired RIP version and operation mode,аthen tick the 'Enabled' checkbox to enable RIP when you click "Apply", or leave it unticked if you would like to disable RIP on those interfaces.

DNS Server

 

DNS Server Configuration

If Enable Automatic Assigned DNS checkbox is selected, this router will accept the first received DNS assignment from the PPPoA, PPPoE or MER/DHCP enabled PVC(s) during the connection establishment. Ifа the checkbox is not selected, enter the primary and optional secondary DNS server IP addresses. Click "Apply" to save it.
NOTE:а If changing from unselected Automatic Assigned DNS to selected Automatic Assigned DNS, You must reboot the router to get the automatic assigned DNS addresses.

DMZ Host

The DSL router will forward IP packets that do not belong to any of the applications configured in the Virtual Servers table through WAN interface to the DMZ host computer.
Enter the computer's IP address and click "Apply" to activate the DMZ host. Clear the IP address field and click "Apply" to deactivate the DMZ host.

Dynamic DNS Configuration

This page allows you to provide Internet users with a domain name (instead of an IP address) to access your virtual servers. This DSL router supports dynamic DNS provided by the provider 'http://www.dyndns.org'. Please register this service at 'www.dyndns.org'.

The user name is configured when you register the service and then the password will be sent to you via email. Domain name is allocated to you by 'www.dyndns.org'.

Diagnostic Tests

This DSL Router is capable of testing your DSL connection. The individual tests are listed below. If a test displays a fail status, click "Run Diagnostic tests" again to make sure the fail status is consistent. If the test continues to fail, click "Help" and follow the troubleshooting procedures.

Update Firmware

Step 1:а Obtain an updated firmware image file from your ISP.
Step 2:а Enter the path to the image file location in the box below or click "Browse" to locate the image file.
Step 3:а Click "Update Firmware" once to upload the new image file.
NOTE:а The update process takes about 2 minutes to complete, and your DSL Router will reboot.
